Chewy Homemade Brownies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 large eggs, room temperature
02 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
03 - 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
04 - 1 teaspoon salt
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
06 - 1 cup unsalted butter
07 - 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
08 - 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
09 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13” glass baking dish and line with parchment paper. Set aside.
02 - In the bowl of a standing mixer, combine eggs and vanilla extract. Using the whisk attachment on the mixer, whisk the egg mixture for 1-2 minutes.
03 - Add the cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder to the mixture and whisk an additional minute.
04 - In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Once melted, whisk the sugar into the hot butter.
05 - Add the melted butter/sugar mixture to the chocolate mixture and stir until combined.
06 - Add the flour to the batter, mixing just until fully combined.
07 - Fold in the chocolate chips.
08 - Spread the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until just a few crumbs cling to a toothpick/knife when stuck in the center. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
09 - Cut into squares to serve.

# Notes:

01 - Dissolving sugar in the hot butter ensures a crispy, shiny top on the brownies.
02 - Freezing instructions: Wrap cooled brownies in plastic wrap, separate layers with parchment paper, and freeze in an airtight bag for up to 1 month.
03 - To make this recipe in a smaller 9x9 pan, halve all ingredients.
