Dirt Pie with Gummy Worms (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Oreo Crust

01 - 40 Oreo sandwich cookies, crushed with cream center (2 cups for crust, 1 cup for filling, 1 cup for topping)
02 - 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted and cooled

→ Filling

03 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (226g)
04 - ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted
05 - 1 ½ cups cold whole milk
06 - 3.9 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix (110g)
07 - 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed (226g)
08 - 24 gummy worms

# Instructions:

01 - Add 2 cups of the crushed Oreo cookies to a small mixing bowl. Pour melted and cooled butter over the crushed cookies. Stir to coat the crumbs completely. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Place in the refrigerator to chill while preparing the filling.
02 - Add softened cream cheese to a medium mixing bowl. Mix with a handheld mixer on medium speed until smooth (1.5-2 minutes). Add the powdered sugar and continue mixing until smooth for another 2 minutes.
03 - In another medium-sized mixing bowl, add cold milk and sprinkle the pudding mix over it. Mix using a whisk or handheld mixer on low speed until thickened. Stir in 1 cup of crushed Oreo crumbs until evenly distributed.
04 - Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture using a silicone spatula to maintain a light texture. Then, fold in the cream cheese mixture into the pudding mixture.
05 - Spread the combined pudding filling evenly into the chilled Oreo crust. Smooth the surface with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of crushed Oreo crumbs over the top of the pie.
06 - Cover the pie and chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours. Before serving, cut the pie into 8 slices and top each slice with 2-3 gummy worms.

# Notes:

01 - Crush Oreos in a food processor or with a rolling pin in a sealed plastic bag for best results.
02 - Use waxed paper and a measuring cup to press the crust flat to avoid sticking.
03 - Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a lump-free, fluffy filling.
04 - Chill the pie overnight for optimal flavor and a firmer texture.
