Baked Mostaccioli (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound mostaccioli pasta.
02 - 1½ pounds bulk Italian sausage.
03 - 1 jar (28 ounces) meatless spaghetti sauce.
04 - 1 large egg, beaten.
05 - 15 ounces ricotta cheese.
06 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese.
07 - ½ cup grated Romano cheese.

# Instructions:

01 - Boil mostaccioli according to package directions, then drain.
02 - Brown Italian sausage in Dutch oven until no longer pink, drain excess fat.
03 - Stir spaghetti sauce and cooked pasta into the sausage.
04 - Combine beaten egg, ricotta, and mozzarella in a bowl.
05 - Put half pasta mixture in baking dish, add cheese mixture, top with remaining pasta.
06 - Cover and bake at 375°F for 40 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
07 - Uncover, add Romano cheese on top, bake 5 more minutes until hot.

03 - Can substitute penne or ziti pasta if needed.
