Blueberry Lemonade (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
02 - ½ cup sugar (more or less to taste)
03 - Juice of 4-5 lemons (about ¾ cup juice)
04 - Peels of 2-3 lemons (optional)
05 - 1 cup water (for simple syrup)
06 - 4 cups water (for lemonade)

→ Garnish (Optional)

07 - Mint
08 - Lemon peels and slices
09 - Blueberries

# Instructions:

01 - Peel and juice 4-5 lemons.
02 - To make the sugar syrup, add 1/2 the lemon peels, blueberries, sugar and water into a saucepan and heat until the sugar has dissolved and the blueberries start to pop, about 3-4 minutes.
03 - Remove from heat and let sit a few minutes to cool down. Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth strain out the berries and lemon peel from the simple syrup.
04 - Add the blueberry simple syrup to a large pitcher and add 4 cups of cold water. Then, chill the mixture in the fridge.
05 - When chilled, pour over ice, add optional garnishes and enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - Notes: Adding the peeled lemon zest to the simply syrup is optional, but adds an extra lemony kick to the lemonade. You can add an extra ¼ cup lemon juice for extra tart lemonade. Both fresh and frozen blueberries work great in this recipe. Add a shot of vodka, rum, or whiskey for a blueberry lemonade cocktail. This recipe lasts about a week in the fridge.
