# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 medium sweet onions
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 2 teaspoons kosher salt
04 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
05 - 1 cup Coca-Cola

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the onions into ¼ inch rounds, discarding the root and skin. Separate the rings and set aside.
02 - Place a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the olive oil, onions, salt, and pepper, stir to coat the onions in the oil and seasonings.
03 - Cook, stirring occasionally for 15 minutes until the onions are translucent and starting to soften.
04 - Add the Coca-Cola to the skillet and stir to combine.
05 - Continue to cook until caramelized, browned, soft, and almost all of the liquid is cooked out, about 15-20 minutes.
06 - Use immediately as a topping for burgers, sandwiches, or other dishes, or let cool and store for later use.

# Notes:

01 - Don't rush the cook time - low and slow is key for properly caramelizing onions.
02 - If the skillet starts to dry out too soon, add a tablespoon or two of water or more Coca-Cola to prevent sticking or burning.
03 - These onions can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
