Cinnamon Cream Cheese Sticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 16 slices white bread (crusts removed)
02 - 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
03 - 3/4 cup powdered sugar
04 - 1 cup granulated sugar
05 - 2 tsp cinnamon
06 - 3/4 cup butter (melted)

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing well. Pour melted butter into a third shallow bowl.
02 - Remove the crusts from each slice of white bread. Using a rolling pin, flatten each bread slice to make it thinner and more pliable.
03 - Spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each flattened bread slice. Roll each slice up tightly, starting from one end, to form a cylinder shape.
04 - Dip each rolled bread stick first into the melted butter, ensuring it's coated all around. Then roll it in the cinnamon sugar mixture until completely covered.
05 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the coated rolls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
06 - Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
07 - Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. These can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

# Notes:

01 - These sweet treats are sometimes called 'Churro Sticks' or 'Cinnamon Roll Sticks' because of their similar flavor profile.
02 - Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days. Reheat in a 300°F oven for 5 minutes to restore crispness.
03 - For a flavor variation, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture or a dash of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar.
