Classic Creamy Cucumber Dish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Vegetables

01 - 3 cups thinly sliced cucumbers
02 - 1 cup thinly sliced red onion

→ Dressing

03 - 1/2 cup sour cream
04 - 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
05 - 2 Tablespoons minced fresh dill
06 - 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

# Instructions:

01 - Using a sharp knife or mandoline, slice the cucumbers and red onion into thin, uniform slices. Pat the cucumber slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which will help keep your salad creamy rather than watery.
02 - In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, white vinegar, minced fresh dill, granulated sugar, salt, and garlic powder. Stir everything together until well combined and smooth.
03 - Add the sliced cucumbers and red onions to the bowl with the dressing. Gently toss everything together until all vegetable slices are evenly coated with the creamy dressing.
04 - Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with additional sprigs of fresh dill and freshly cracked black pepper if desired. For best flavor, cover and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to let the flavors meld together.

# Notes:

01 - This salad tastes even better when made ahead and refrigerated for at least an hour.
02 - Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
03 - For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream.
