01 - 1 cup granulated sugar
02 - 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), melted
03 - 3 eggs, room temperature

05 - 2 cups cake flour

08 - ⅔ cup sour cream
09 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, for topping

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, add sugar and melted butter. Mix for 1 minute or until light and airy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
03 - In a small bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
04 - Fold in sour cream until fully incorporated into the batter.
05 - Transfer batter to the prepared baking dish and sprinkle remaining granulated sugar on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
06 - Allow cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
