First, you will need to make fresh green apple juice. If you have a fast juicer, you will need about 3-4 apples to make one cup of green apple juice. However, if you have a slow juicer, you may only require 1-2 apples.
02 -
If you don't have a juicer, you can use a blender instead! Simply blend your apples and then pour the pulp into a fine-mesh strainer. Press the pulp to get any excess juice out. Plant-milk bags will do the trick too!
03 -
Once you have your fresh green apple juice made, you'll want to add the lime juice right away to prevent oxidization. This simply prevents the juice from turning brown (just like apples do when exposed to oxygen).
04 -
To mix the apple and lime juice, pour one cup of your freshly made green apple juice into a pitcher or jug. Then stir in two tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice.
05 -
Next, stir in a dash of spirulina powder. You can mix it in with a whisk or blitz it in a smoothie blender for thirty seconds or so. If using a blender, make sure to do this step before adding the carbonated water!
06 -
Now all that's left to do is add your sparkling (or still) water! Pour one and a half cups of carbonated spring water into the pitcher with the apple and lime juice mixture.
07 -
If you prefer less of a sour punch to your homemade Green Apple Soda, simply add in more water. You can add as much as you need until it reaches your desired taste.
08 -
You can get extra fancy with this refreshing, bubbly Green Apple Soda by serving it in martini or cocktail glasses and garnishing with lime or apple slices! (If garnishing with apple slices, be sure to squeeze a little lemon or lime juice on them to prevent them from oxidizing and turning brown.)
