Homemade Hot Chocolate (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar.
02 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder.
03 - 1 pinch salt.
04 - 4 cups whole milk.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
06 - 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
07 - 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips.
08 - Optional toppings (whipped cream, marshmallows).

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk sugar, cocoa powder and salt in saucepan.
02 - Gradually whisk in 1/2 cup cold milk until cocoa dissolves.
03 - Add remaining milk and vanilla, simmer 1-2 minutes while whisking.
04 - Remove from heat, stir in chocolate chips until melted.
05 - Warm gently if needed to melt chocolate, serve with desired toppings.

# Notes:

01 - Don't boil after adding chocolate.
02 - Can be made ahead.
03 - Keeps warm in crockpot.
04 - Stores 2 days refrigerated.
