Maple BBQ Hasselback Kielbasa (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat

01 - 900 g kielbasa sausage

→ Sauce & Condiments

02 - 120 ml pure maple syrup
03 - 120 ml barbecue sauce
04 - 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

→ Spices & Seasonings

05 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
06 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Oils

08 - 2 tablespoons olive oil

→ Optional Garnish

09 - Chopped fresh parsley

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Cut kielbasa into 5–7 cm pieces. Place each piece between two chopsticks or wooden spoons and make thin, evenly spaced slices along the length, avoiding cutting through completely.
03 - In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, barbecue sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and olive oil until fully blended.
04 - Arrange sliced kielbasa on the prepared baking sheet. Brush generously with the maple barbecue glaze, ensuring coverage between the slices.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, basting with additional glaze halfway through, until the sausage is browned with crispy edges.
06 - Allow kielbasa to cool briefly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Add a teaspoon of cayenne or a dash of hot sauce for extra heat. Alternative sausages such as bratwurst or Italian sausage may be substituted. Serve over polenta or with roasted potatoes for a more filling meal.
