Cookies & Cream Krispie Treats (Print Version)

Classic Rice Krispie treats taken to the next level with crushed Oreo cookies mixed throughout. These thick, chewy treats combine two favorite desserts into one irresistible snack.

# Ingredients:

01 - 5 tbsp butter
02 - 9 cups mini marshmallows, divided
03 - 5 cups Krispie cereal
04 - 16 Oreo cookies, crushed
05 - 1/2 tsp salt

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, mix together the Krispie cereal, crushed Oreo cookies and one cup of mini marshmallows.
02 - In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely.
03 - Add the remaining 8 cups of mini marshmallows and salt to the melted butter. Stir continuously over medium heat until the marshmallows are completely melted and incorporated with the butter, creating a smooth mixture.
04 - Pour the melted butter and marshmallow mixture over the Krispie cereal mixture. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold everything together until the cereal and Oreos are evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
05 - Transfer the Oreo Krispie mixture into a 9-inch square pan. Using the spatula, press gently to flatten the top and create an even surface. Don't press too hard or the treats will become dense.
06 - Allow the Oreo Krispies to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes before slicing into squares and serving.

# Notes:

01 - For extra Oreo flavor, you can add a few additional crushed cookies on top of the treats right after pressing them into the pan.
02 - Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days for best freshness.
03 - Line your pan with parchment paper with overhanging edges for easier removal and cutting.
04 - If your treats are difficult to cut cleanly, lightly coat your knife with cooking spray.
