Philly Steak Cheese Fries (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 bag (about 1 lb) frozen French fries
02 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
03 - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
04 - 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
05 - 225g thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved beef)
06 - Salt, to taste
07 - Black pepper, to taste
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
09 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

→ Cheese Sauce

10 - 2 tablespoons butter
11 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
12 - 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
13 - 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or Cheddar/Mozzarella mix)
14 - Salt, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Cook the French fries according to package directions (oven or air fryer) until crispy and golden. Set aside.
02 - In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté until soft and slightly caramelized (about 5–7 minutes). Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Cook for 3–5 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Set aside.
03 - In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in the milk and stir until the mixture thickens (2–3 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt.
04 - On a large platter or baking dish, layer the crispy fries. Top with the cooked steak, peppers, and onions. Drizzle generously with the warm cheese sauce.
05 - Add jalapeños, hot sauce, crumbled bacon, or extra melted cheese as desired.

# Notes:

01 - If you want to save time, melt provolone slices directly over the steak and veggies in the pan, then layer that over the fries instead of making the cheese sauce.
