Fudgy Red Velvet Brownies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 large egg
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - 1 tablespoon red food coloring
06 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
07 - ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
08 - ½ teaspoon baking powder
09 - ¼ teaspoon salt

→ For the Cream Cheese Frosting

10 - 4 oz cream cheese, softened
11 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
12 - 1 cup powdered sugar
13 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
14 - 1-2 tablespoons milk

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until smooth.
03 - In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
04 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.
06 - Beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined. Add milk until desired consistency is reached.
07 - Once brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top. Cut into squares and serve.
