Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and caramelized. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add extra olive oil if necessary. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant and golden.

Add BBQ sauce, honey, paprika, chili powder or cayenne, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Return the cooked sausage to the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss thoroughly to ensure the pasta and sausage are evenly coated with sauce.

Scatter chopped fresh parsley over the pasta and serve hot.
