Easy Authentic Churros (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Wet Ingredients

01 - 1 cup water
02 - 2 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
03 - 1/2 tsp salt
04 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil

→ Dry Ingredients

05 - 1 cup all-purpose flour

→ Frying

06 - 2 quarts oil for frying

→ Coating

07 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
08 - 1 tsp ground cinnamon

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a medium saucepan and mix water, granulated sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring this mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
02 - Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from the heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until you achieve a smooth dough. Allow the dough to cool for about 10 minutes.
03 - In a large pan, heat 2 quarts of oil to around 375°F (190°C) for frying the churros.
04 - Load your cooled dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip for that perfect churro shape.
05 - Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil carefully. Fry the churros until they are golden and crispy, approximately 2 minutes on each side. Once done, drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
06 - In a shallow dish, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Toss the fried churros in this mixture until they are thoroughly coated in sweet, spicy goodness.

# Notes:

01 - Tip for Piping: Ensure that the dough is not too hot when placing it in the piping bag, as this may cause the bag to melt or burst.
02 - Oil Temperature: Use a kitchen thermometer to keep track of the oil temperature; if it’s too cool, churros will become greasy, and if it’s too hot, they may burn quickly.
03 - Serving Suggestion: Serve churros warm for the best texture and flavor. They are delightful on their own or paired with chocolate sauce for dipping.
