Easy Homemade Italian Bread (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 2 cups bread flour or all purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
03 - 1 cup warm water
04 - 1 1/8 teaspoon instant yeast
05 - 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
06 - Olive oil, for drizzling

→ Topping

07 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
08 - 2/3 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
09 - 1 1/2 teaspoons dry Italian seasoning
10 - Maldon flaked sea salt, for sprinkling

# Instructions:

01 - In a glass bowl, add the flour and salt. Mix to combine. In a glass measuring cup, mix the warm water, yeast and sugar. Allow to sit for a minute until bubbly, then stir into the flour with a wooden spoon until the dough just comes together.
02 - Cover the bowl with tight plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 8 hours or up to overnight.
03 - Remove the bowl from the fridge. In an 8-inch round cake pan, drizzle olive oil and place the dough in the center, tucking ends under.
04 - Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise 2 hours. Once risen, the dough should fill the pan.
05 - Heat the oven to 450°F. Drizzle the dough with additional oil and use your fingers to press holes down to the bottom of the pan but not through the dough.
06 - Mix garlic, cheese and herbs in a bowl. Sprinkle this mixture over the dough along with Maldon flaked sea salt.
07 - Place in the oven, turn temperature down to 425°F and bake for 22-24 minutes or until golden.

# Notes:

01 - Activated yeast should bubble and foam up within a few minutes if your yeast is good
02 - This bread will keep at room temperature for 4-5 days
03 - The long, slow fermentation in the refrigerator develops better flavor
