Tangy citrus dessert bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Batter

01 - 1 cup butter, softened to room temperature
02 - 1 1/2 cups sugar
03 - Zest of 1 lemon
04 - 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
05 - 4 large eggs
06 - 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
07 - 1/2 tsp salt

→ Glaze

08 - 1 cup powdered sugar
09 - 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
10 - 2 tsp lemon zest

# Instructions:

01 - Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl till creamy. Beat in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and eggs.
02 - Stir in flour and salt till well combined.
03 - Spread the batter evenly into a 9x13" pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.
04 - Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or till edges are starting to lightly brown and middle is set.
05 - For glaze, whisk together all ingredients, adding enough lemon juice to make a pourable consistency. Spread evenly over hot bars.
06 - Cool completely and cut into squares.

# Notes:

01 - These lemon brownies have a chewy, dense texture similar to brownies but with bright lemon flavor.
02 - Adding the glaze while the bars are still hot allows it to partially melt into the surface.
03 - Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
